- Does everyone attending the ARTS Open Call auditions receive a CALL BACK?
-
ARTS will audition thousands of individuals during our Open Calls. It would diminish the overall quality of our show, if everyone that auditioned were accepted and showcased at our event. The answer is NO, not everyone that auditions during an ARTS Open Call will receive a Call Back/Invitation to attend the ARTS. Our number one goal is to provide quality talent to our agents. If we selected everyone that attended our Open Calls, we would not only have thousands of people in attendance, but the quality would be that of an Open Call. The ARTS is a collection of the very best talents that we have found, and our reputation depends on selecting the very best.
- How does the ARTS decide who to Call Back after an Open Call Audition?
-
Our selections are very specific. We are not looking for just another pretty face. We believe “beauty is only skin deep”, and that “pretty is, as pretty does”. We know that everyone has good qualities, but we must look beyond the obvious. Our mission is to change Hollywood, one role model at a time! Our call back process results in high quality individuals on our stage, and we intend to foster every new artist to be highly successful in pursuing their dreams. ARTS is all about Dreaming BIG!
- I love to DANCE! What can the ARTS do to benefit me? Is this like other dance competitions that I’ve attended my whole life?
-
This will be NOTHING like any dance competition that you have ever attended. ARTS provides an incredible performance stage, offering state of the art sound and a Broadway style environment. At the ARTS you will perform in front of casting directors, managers and agents who represent and secure dancers for many opportunities in the industry. Dancers have never had the opportunities in the industry, as they do today! From commercial work to the blockbuster movies, along with incredible Broadway opportunities – ARTS dancers will be given tremendous opportunities. This is not about trophies and awards – we want our dancers to be discovered and launched to great success! We encourage our ARTS participants to cross-train for EVERYTHING: acting, modeling, singing and dancing. All performances must be approved by ARTS Development Team.
- What are some of the successful opportunities that ARTS talents have experienced?
-
ARTS talents have experienced some of the most incredible opportunities! From National Television Commercials, TV Drama Series to Blockbuster movies! Broadway has been a huge success for our performing artists, along with music videos! Voiceover work has multiplied over the years, offering many of our talent opportunities in animation. We are thrilled at the international success of our editorial fashion models, traveling abroad to far away lands, such as Tokyo, Milan, China, Paris and more! From walking the most prestigious couture shows in New York City, to being on “first request” by top designers worldwide. Our plus-size models have made a significant impact on the world of modeling in the past few years, and we are thrilled to see this area of the industry flourish. Our children continue to do very well in catalog print, magazine, editorial, Television commercial, along with feature films.
Pre-teens and Teenagers continue dominate the various area of the industry, as they have for decades. From television series to major movies, print, Broadway and more!
Adults are making a come back in the industry all the way around. Betty White has inspired many to consider taking their shot at Hollywood. Adults are experience opportunities in markets across the country like never before! ARTS will offer exposure to children starting around 3 – 4 years old, with our oldest client currently 80 years old! - What is the ARTS?
-
ARTS is the safest way for anyone that desires to pursue the world of entertainment as a performer. For decades, aspiring artists have “packed their bags and headed to Hollywood, New York City or Nashville to become a STAR!” So many of those people, get caught up in every detour imaginable. Not having the quality contacts, knowledge, understanding of show business, and more. Ultimately those dreams experience failure, throwing in the towel and a significant loss of funds.
- What separates the ARTS from any other opportunities available?
-
Absolutely EVERYTHING! From overall investment, the ARTS is the most affordable approach, offering valuable beyond expectations. It has been our goal, to incorporate more in five days than one could ever achieve independently. For one to visit a large market, it becomes a financial burden, with very little idea of how or where to begin. Most people rarely gain access to the right industry professionals, nor do they come close to making the right connections.
The ARTS is reviewed by some of the most impressive agents in the world, and support our showcase with their representation, guidance and attendance. Thanks again for having me as a guest at ARTS this past week. I think it was a great success!
You and your staff put on a top shelf experience for all involved
Frankly, this event has become the best one that I have seen to date for emerging talent. You’ve done a wonderful job of building ARTS into the special experience that it has become.
All the parents and talent that I spoke with really had a terrific time and learned so much. I got a lot of great feedback from the seminar, so happy to do that for you in the future anytime.
– P. Weber / Weber Casting, Los Angeles, CaliforniaFor over 20 years, Kim & Rick Myers have provided excellent leadership in grooming, guiding and launching hundreds of aspiring artists into the world of entertainment. As parents, we know the pressure of “making a good decision” on behalf of our sons and daughters. We work very hard to raise our children to be passionate about their dreams, and not to allow anyone to stand in their way. We believe in Dreaming BIG, and taking advantage of any opportunity that is solid and TRUSTWORTHY… something you can TRUST.
Over the years, we have seen some unscrupulous organizations take advantage of hopes and dreams of young hearts. It is our goal, to provide a safe environment for our families, that is also fun, educational, empowering, and laced with exposure to the absolute BEST QUALITY agent, casting, producers, and managers in this industry. We handpick those that attend the ARTS! We provide an incredible learning environment, preparing these aspiring artists for one of the most impacting experiences of their lives! -

There are some agencies that will require you to live in their market, however, there are just as many that do not. We have a mixture of those agents attending our showcase.

- It is important that you have the very best image that captures your true potential on paper! It should be noted, that ARTS does not sub-contract photographers without pre-negotiating the best possible rate, including a “License-free Agreement”. All photography is done in full color, and provided on a photo CD. Cost in composites/headshots vary, consult your ARTS Director.

- How does one gain more information about College Credit?
-
Those interested in college credit should hold a Bachelor’s Degree. You should check with your college or university if they will accept this credit. It would be a credit from Ashland University of Ohio, which is an accredited institution. The credit fits best for those in education. continuing Education Unit’s are available for a minimal processing fee for those in need of credits toward license renewal. (As in any college credit, you would pay Ashland University’s fee for graduate credit.) Contact Linda at lmotznik@theartstalent.com for additional information.

- I have been told that if an Agency wants to represent you, they will not charge up front fees. Is this TRUE?
- The ARTS is not an agency. It is an opportunity offering you the chance to audition in front of top agents and castings whom you would not have a chance to even see or make an appointment with… because they do not make appointments. They attend the ARTS through a personal invitation from a 20-year old friend who knows how to identify talent and beauty. In addition to these auditions, the ARTS offers educational seminars given by the agents and castings themselves. So you are given an opportunity to sit in their classroom. To top that off, you are given the opportunity to sit down and have a direct interview with these professionals who have watched you audition all week… Quite the recipe for success. So by attending the ARTS, you can meet face to face with agents from Paris, NYC, Hollywood and beyond – ALL IN ONE PLACE. Please NOTE: you should never pay money to sign with an agency. There are NO fees for representation. The Agency will make money when you book work. You will be taught this and much more if you attend the ARTS. ARTS is a Hollywood/Broadway style showcase of international talent, who seek guidance and direct contact with top agents, castings, managers and producers worldwide. ARTS is not an agency. Our showcase is an opportunity to not only audition for, but to actually meet and interview with leading industry professionals. Agents and Casting Directors who do not take appointments and who would be totally out of reach to the average individual seeking representation. In addition, the ARTS will offer education about the industry that is not even available to college students seeking a master’s in theater. ARTS is a highly regarded educational experience, offering introduction to the worlds leading industry professionals. Traveling to major markets, trying to seek representation can be an exhausting and expensive journey. In addition, potential agencies do not have the opportunity to see the true quality of an individual. The key benefit to the ARTS, is meeting face to face with agents from Paris, New York City, Hollywood and beyond – in ONE PLACE. Once an individual signs with an agency, there are NO FEES for representation. Agency make money when talent works!
- My child has been selected to participate in the ARTS international showcase will he/she be able to handle such busy days?
- The ARTS is very conscientious of children! Our days start around 8:00 a.m., however, everyone’s schedule is spaced throughout the day. Children’s schedules tend to start early and offer opportunities to enjoy the amenities of the resort!
- What about ground transportation once we arrive in Orlando?
- We recommend a company called MEARS TRANSPORATION, and they can be located in Baggage Claim at Orlando International Airport. MEARS provides a discount coupon, providing round-trip shuttle to and from the Marriott World Center. The ARTS Office will distribute these coupons within weeks of showcase.
- What about spending more money on my wardrobe?
- Your Director will help you select outfits appropriate for each event from your current wardrobe. We’ll give you suggestions based on your age, body type, and personal style. The agents prefer simplicity, so there’s no need to worry about spending money on ballroom gowns and tuxedos! ARTS wants you to be yourself, and our goal is to teach you to be resourceful. So many people have closets filled with clothes – learn to utilize everything you own. Learn to accessorize! This part of the training can be a lot of FUN!
- What are the different audition events and how do we know which ones to enter?
- During your development phase, our rehearsal workshops will allow our team the opportunity to get to know you. As we get to know you, we will stretch you in many directions, testing you in all areas of potential. It is important that every aspiring artists be as diverse as possible. The more you are willing to try, the more doors will open, period. - What other costs will I have AFTER attending the ARTS?
-

- What other expenses should we expect beyond the ARTS package price?
-
The ARTS package price is intended for the “selected participant”. However, every person attending the ARTS, must register. If you are not a PARTICIPANT, then you would be considered an OBSERVER. - What type of placement rate does maintain at the ARTS?
- For over 20 years of scouting, ARTS & Kim Myers has placed hundreds of amazing people into the business, assisting them in pursuing their dreams. We are happy to announce that we hold a success rate between 60-70% callback ratio from the past 7 showcases. Based on attendance, we have enjoyed a large percentage receiving call backs and offers of interest from our visiting agent panel. We believe this success comes from preparedness, and selecting the most qualified individuals to be on stage. We are not looking for years of experiences and seasoned resumes. ARTS is a networking showcase, that allows the “average” person possessing “gifted” abilities, to be just as successful as anyone with years of experience. We do not sign contracts at this showcase, and will not recommend anyone to join the ARTS simply to get signed and secure contract representation. The ARTS is a mentoring program for the serious artist, wishing to advance their talent and ability and make connection through networking with our process. Success has a different definition for everyone, and timing has its’ own timetable. However, our ARTS program will become your GPS in this industry; offering you the most up to date knowledge and direction. Our relationship does not finish at the conclusion of our networking showcase, it’s just the beginning. We view your auditions all week, as planting seeds – the ARTS becomes your “Miracle Grow and water”. Embrace the journey!
